Carbon Dioxide Surface Facilities

This five-day training course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of CO2 surface facilities, including their design, operation, and maintenance. The course will cover the basic principles of CO2 handling, including the properties of CO2, its transport and storage, and the safety and environmental considerations related to CO2 handling. In addition, the course will cover the design and operation of CO2 surface facilities, including compression, dehydration, and separation equipment. The course will also include practical exercises and case studies to reinforce the concepts learned.

By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the fundamentals of CO2 surface facilities design and operations, including the physical and chemical properties of CO2 and how they impact facility design.
• Learn about the different types of CO2 surface facilities and their respective applications, including CO2 capture, transportation, and storage.
• Gain an understanding of the various CO2 capture technologies, including post-combustion, pre-combustion, and oxy-fuel combustion, and how they impact facility design.
• Learn about the different types of CO2 transportation systems, including pipeline, truck, and ship transportation, and the challenges associated with each.
• Understand the different types of CO2 storage, including geologic storage and mineral carbonation, and the challenges associated with each.
• Gain an understanding of the environmental and regulatory considerations associated with CO2 surface facilities design and operations.
• Learn about the latest developments and trends in CO2 surface facilities technology.
